This style of phototography is called astrophotography.
This was done using an Olympus OM1 and a Televue TV101, 4 inch refractor. This was shot at a focal length of 2250 afocally using a 12 Nagler type 4 eyepiece through a 50mm lens. The film used was Kodak E100 VS.

Wow, super detail on this. I've been trying to do this for a while w/my digital, but I haven't tried it since I got my Rebel 2000. Your efforts definitely paid off. +fav
Very well captured, I like the contrasts of darkness and light, the shadowing, nice how you can see the craters...and it's off-centered, and I like that, too!!
Centering isn't always the best for photographs, especially if you try to let the viewer feel they are actually there, within the photograph's walls.
